Malayalam, Mohanlal and some poetry
Dear reader,
hello! I watched Mamootty’s Bramayugam and was blown away by how Mammooty keeps reinventing himself and his impeccable body language. Though the movie is interesting, it is still a bit draggy. I made this comic about Mammooty after watching the film.
It was World Mother Tongue Day on the 21st and I wrote about growing up on the outskirts of Mumbai and being teased for speaking Malayalam, hating it and learning to love it because of Mohanlal.
I am also sharing some pictures from Embroider your <3 on your sleeve that I did as part of #ArtWithIndu.
Femita embroidered Khusrau on her sleeve. Femita recently learned to embroider when she attended the Threads Of Solidarity event that she attended and has since been embroidering religiously.
Khusrau darya prem ka, ulti wa ki dhaar
Jo utra so doob gaya, jo dooba so paar.
Here’s what first-time embroider, Shibani, embroidered:
Valentine
By Wendy Cope
My heart has made its mind up
And I’m afraid it’s you.
Whatever you’ve got lined up,
My heart has made its mind up
And if you can’t be signed up
This year, next year will do.
My heart has made its mind up
And I’m afraid it’s you.
For the next #ArtWithIndu, I want to do an art picnic on March 3. It will be free where 20 people who identify as women will meet in a public space, commune through art games and make zines about what it means to walk in their shoes .
I am looking for organisations/individuals who would like to collaborate with me, and contribute toward:
1. My fee
2. Gifts / gift coupons you would like to gift the women
Get in touch with me at indu14@gmail.com. if you are an individual who wants to take part in the Art Picnic, write to me.
See you.
